5 Months

Jonathan is 5 months old!  I know every parent feels this way, but I really can't believe that he is already 5 months.  He is at a really fun age and is smiling and laughing all the time (well ..... make that most of the time, Andy says). He weighs just a little over 16 pounds and he is now rolling over regularly from his stomach to his back.  He loves sitting up (with help) and also wants to stand up on our laps all the time.

The biggest new development from this past month is that he is getting his first two teeth.  The bottom two middle teeth are poking out a little.  So far we have only had one rough night because of teething where we were up in the middle of the night for a few hours.  Besides that, he is doing pretty good.  He just drools like a faucet.  :-)  Sleeping could definitely be better as the little guy still gets me up 3, sometimes 4 times a night, but I just try not to think about it too much and I tell myself often that it can't last forever.

This is a newborn shot.  Hasn't he grown a lot in five months?

These next few pictures are from our 5 month photo shoot.  I decided to do this month's pictures myself instead of taking him to a studio.  I transformed our bedroom into a studio of our own, and I think they turned out pretty good if I do say so myself.  :)

Here are some of my favorite shots from this month.  Sorry there are so many, I had a hard time deciding.

I love his crazy eyes in this shot.

This is a common scene these days.  Jonathan is constantly chewing on his hands while working on getting those two teeth in.

Like father, like son.

Grandma gave Jonathan this bear.  I am trying to make it his favorite toy to help with sleeping, so he has it often.

Thanks for checking in!

Being at Home

I am extremely lucky these days to be able to be at home two days a week with my boy.  I feel so grateful to be part-time and love everyday that I get to be at home with Jonathan.  Being home definitely requires sacrifices from both Andy and I, but I think it is totally worth it.

We are always happy to see Daddy at the end of the day, but Jonathan and I have a great time while we are alone.  Here are a few pictures from our recent days together.

Four Months!

Jonathan turned 4 months on Thursday, which is really hard for us to believe.  He is changing very quickly these days and doing new things all the time.  He weighs over 14 pounds and is now 25 inches long (75th percentile, so maybe he will be tall like his Daddy!)  He rolled over for the first time a couple of weeks ago, although he hasn't started doing this regularly yet.  He has laughed a few times, which is the best sound in the world.  He has also recently found his toes which is adorable.  He rubs his eyes when he is tired and he grabs his toys and reaches for his mobile. He enjoys listening to/watching Baby Mozart and he always gives us big smiles when we talk to him in silly voices.  Here are my favorites from this month:

Some friends gave us tickets to see the UD Flyers, so here is Jonathan at his first sporting event.

On January 31st Dayton was hit with an ice storm.  Our power went out at 7:30 that evening and did not turn on until two days later.  The first night we managed to stay at our house, but by the next evening it was so cold in the house that we stayed with our good friends Tim and Jessica.  This is Jonathan at our house during the day on Feb. 1st.  I focused my day on keeping this little guy warm, which meant he was held most of the day.  So he was quite happy in his Mama's arms all day.

Thanks for checking in and for caring about our little guy!

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

Today is Grandpa's birthday.  Jonathan loves his grandpa and in honor of him here are a few pictures of their time together.

And since Grandpa is a pilot, here is a picture of Jonathan in his little pilot outfit.

We love you Grandpa.
Happy Birthday!

Our Little Man

Today was our first day back at church in a long time.  Jonathan wore his baby British Open Golf outfit.  Most days we keep Jonathan comfortable in a onesie, but I couldn't resist this cute outfit today.

Three Months Old

I am very behind on blog posts, so forgive me for posting three in one day.  (To find the other two, look at the blog archive list to the right.)

Jonathan turned three months on the 17th.  Here is a little bit about what he is doing these days.  He smiles often and easily and will chuckle and coo.  He weighs over 13 pounds.  He grabs his rattle and loves to hold his taggy.  He drools all day long making bibs necessary.  He occasionally sleeps 6 hours at night but most often sleeps 4 to 5.  He still doesn't like tummy time much but he will tolerate it a little more on the boppy.  His favorite song is The Wheels on the Bus.  He has started hitting toys with his hands on his bouncy seat and his swing.  Overall he is really happy these days and is such a joy!
