Micah is Three Months Old

Micah turned three months old on October 2.  He is more and more smiley all the time, and has even given us a few giggles.  He is still a bit of a challenge at times (mainly at night), but he is getting easier and easier and and seems to be finally ok with living in this big world.  He takes three consistent naps a day and sleeps really well during the day.  Nighttime sleep is a different story most nights, but I tell myself often that this stage won't last forever.  We think he weighs about 10 1/2 pounds (after weighing him on the Wii).  He is still a little guy and when we are out and about people are surprised to hear that he is three months old.   He is outgrowing his 0-3 month clothes only in length, so it seems we have another tall boy on our hands.  We all love Micah very much, and Jonathan loves talking to his Bubba and giving him kisses often.  We are working with Jonathan to learn how to say Micah, but for now he just prefers Bubba.  :)

Andy with the boys before the first Baylor game.

Headed out to dinner.

Jonathan gives Micah kisses several times a day.  :)

Micah enjoys his baths; he just hates getting out of the tub!

Evening playtime with Daddy.

We took the boys to the Adopt a Duck fundraiser for the Dayton United Rehabilitation Services.  Micah slept the whole time, but given Jonathan's obsessions with Ducks we thought he would love it.  We were right!  You can see all of the rubber ducks in the river in the back of this picture.

You can't see Jonathan's face very well in this picture, but he wasn't nearly as thrilled with this big duck as he was with the little ones in the river.  Large artificial animals seem to make him nervous. :-)

Afternoon playtime on the deck.

I thought this was a funny face that Micah was making.  Jonathan always puts his baby in the swing when he sees Micah in there.

Two Months

Micah turned two months old September 2nd.  I am quite slow in getting this blog posted, which seems pretty typical since Micah is a second child.  :)

Micah is quite the handful, but he's doing well and getting a little easier every day. He has his fussiest moments at night, but thankfully we have more good nights now than rough ones.

At his appointment he weighed 9 pounds 6 ounces (5th %) and he was 23 inches (47th %).  It seems we have another boy that will be fairly tall and skinny. The doctor was a little concerned about Micah's weight gain before his two month appointment, but thankfully he gained enough that his worrying subsided. We are still trying to supplement with a nightly bottle, but Micah isn't that interested in bottles.  Jonathan didn't like bottles either. I guess my boys just prefer their Mama. I am extremely grateful that I get to be home full-time for many reasons, but especially since Micah won't take a bottle easily.

He is starting to smile more and more and he has the cutest little grin. When I look at Micah everyday I still can't believe he is mine and that I have been blessed with two children. God is good!

Jonathan doesn't like to be left out.

First bath in the bath tub.

Don't I have a serious face?

Touchdown.

Our good friends Sara and Jason came over one night for dinner.  Their daughter Emma is a few weeks older then Micah.

Jonathan loves hanging out with Sara and talks about baby Emma all the time.

Tummy time.

Brothers!  This picture is a little misleading since most of the time that Micah is on the floor Jonathan is trying to be right on top of him.

Aunt Sara came to stay with us for a long weekend.  We were thrilled to have her with us, and she was a big help.  Sara knows all about little boys and Jonathan had a great time playing with her.

We love you Aunt Sara!

Micah is One Month

Micah turned one month on August 2nd.  He weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long.  Micah keeps us very busy and is such a joy.

Andy's parents came to see us and to help us for about a week and a half.  It was so nice of them to stay for so long. They are having a very busy summer, too. In May, Andy's Dad retired from his job as a high school principal, after working in public education for 40 years. In another week they will begin moving to a new home in Arkansas.

Micah took lots of naps on Mimi Sue.....

Jonathan loved having Mimi Sue and PawPaw here to play with him.

We had a good time on our outing to Young's Dairy.

Micah's first trip to church.

My sisters Natalie and Melissa came to visit for a long weekend.  They were a big help and I was so happy for the company.

Playing at the park.

Jonathan loves kissing his little brother.

My 33rd Birthday (it's quite a challenge to get both boys still--and happy--at the same time!)

More pictures

About a week and a half after Micah was born, we took some family pictures  . . . . to go along with the ones we got of newborn Jonathan with the same photographer.

Check them out while they're available online. We'll get a few to keep.
